Simon founded gohome in 2001 with a mission to highlight the innovation of Australian design through homeware products. Over time, he pivoted the brand's offering into furniture, building a reputation for high-quality, modern design pieces. With over 25 years of experience in import, export, and global manufacturing, Simon has developed a deep understanding of product commercialization, concept development and sustainable manufacturing practices.
Throughout his career, Simon has designed over 50 products, pushing the boundaries of creativity and design excellence. He leads a dynamic team at gohome, evolving the brand with fresh ideas and new designs. Simon is passionate about nurturing the next generation of designers, lecturing at university and mentoring interns in the field of design.
Beyond his professional achievements, Simon is also committed to giving back to his community. He volunteers at his local sailing club and teaches the unique skills of sailing to children.
Simon is passionate about moving the brand foreward with the creation of gohome’s new design headquarters and showroom in Darlinghurst that opened in September 2024. He believes the new design HQ can offer not only a space for clients to experience the brand, but also a hub for collaboration and inspiration within the Australian design community.
With plans for further international expansion, Simon is eager to cultivate gohome’s distinctive Australian designs to a wider global design market.
