Environmental Policy
We as designers of unique, design-led, and innovative furniture understand our
social responsibility to the peoples and countries where we design,
manufacture, and distribute our furniture, by conserving resources where possible and lightening our footprint on the planet.
Taking action on climate change and reducing carbon emissions within our own business and work practices are important to gohome. We take care in ensuring our designs are produced with the smallest footprint left on the environment and to the highest technical and quality level available, so that our designs live on from generation to generation and won’t end up in landfill.
All of our decisions about design, sourcing of materials, business relationships,
manufacturing, delivery, use and recovery are held to these standards.
We use high-quality products that can either be recycled,
re-used, meet environmental industry standards, are products that should last a life-time, or they fit into our end of life program.
We aim to achieve this through the pursuit of the following fundamental
principles:
All of gohome‘s timbers are FSC certified products (100% of the timber from
certified sustainable sources and have maintained a chain of custody
accreditation under Forestry Certification Standards). We try to minimise
the use of solid wood where we can and instead regularly rely on the use of
timber veneers
Our foams and fabrics used are chosen for their environmental credentials and our
upholsterers follow strict environmental standards
Our water-based lacquers are free from lead and all wooden collections use
formaldehyde free glue
All our aluminium products are made from 60% recycled aluminium
We consider the complete life cycle of a product and how it can endure as long as possible. So all our furniture collections have been designed for longevity, and
many parts can be replaced to extend each products life-cycle
Gohome uses Interpon sustainable coatings for all metal treatments
All gohome‘s packaging is carefully designed to minimise excess, utilise recyclable material (where possible) and provide a value-added benefit to the end product.
